CHOSEN VS. APPOINTED

Recently I was in a discussion of what's the difference from being chosen and being appointed. leaving the conversation I began to wrestle with some questions to get to a solution.

Are you Chosen or are you Appointed? Or can you be chosen but not yet appointed. Or can be both chosen and appointed?

Too often we confuse these two words. See when you are chosen, you are the object of choice for divine favor. A person that has been elected. However, when you are appointed you are being established in a specific way. In order words, you are being placed on the path that has been set before you. In doing so, you are walking in the word of Jeremiah 29:11 which says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Nonetheless, you should know that when you have been chosen and place in a place of authority don't change things just because you have the power to do so or just feel like it. In ding so you are taking advantage of the power and authority that has been given to you. You should look for the good of your position and make sure you take yourself out of the equation, so that you can build things up instead of tearing them down. For an appointed person is just a chosen person place in a specific area of time. So the next time you are wrestling with the idea of being chosen or appointed, just remember 1 Peter 2:9, "But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light"
